Hello,

I was wondering if anyone who owns Far Cry 4 can help me out. Based on your personal settings and experience with Far Cry 4, what are the best graphical settings for the game? I don't know how I feel about the darkness that comes with some settings, like when God Rays are enables with HBAO+, and some of the AA settings.

I realize this is probably completely subjective, I was just wondering what others have their graphics set at and what others think looks the best, or the best combination.

I have a GTX 980 SC, just incase that helps with what settings I can play.

Thank you! However, I was asking what you best personal settings are. I know I can run it, I am just have issues with the way certain settings look.

i know what you saying. Far cry 4 is one of those games that can have different combination but all is subjective. Unfortunately I'm far from my pc to give you my settings. One thing i notice though is playing with AA and mix matching it with textures can give you different output

I recently got a GTX 970 SC to replace my 7850 so I'm playing at max settings in this game for the first time. The first thing I noticed after bumping things up was that everything is too dark so you're not alone. The combination of shadows and god rays in the jungle areas made it so dark even during the day that I was having a hard time hunting animals.

I turned the shadows down from the Nvidia specific "Soft Shadow" setting to Ultra. I also bumped the gamma up one setting. All other settings are on maximum. I left god rays on. I didn't notice any dip in image quality from doing this, my fps went from around 50 to 75, and I no longer have the problem of everything being too dark in the jungle areas.

Thanks! I will give that a go.
