I've played a number of single player maps, actually, all of the best
ones I could find. Notables include AECanyon, Outpost22, Assignment41.
A couple of posts have sung praises for Devil's Canyon, and I must
agree. The designer seems to have found the edge between ridiculously
difficult and very hard. I got to enjoy the game for hours longer than
I should have, primarily due to the difficulty of 3 key points in the
game. The first holdup was just due to what could be called a RTFM
error. The second holdup was a failure to realize I had something
important. The third is why I say the game bordered on ridiculously
difficult.
I must say I enjoyed it greatly. I would compare it favorably with any
single level in the actual Far Cry game. Hats off to the designer.
