hi, today my ISP changed my internet speed from 60 to 250Mbps. On my desktop (Asus maximum extreme XI motherboard), the speed test was almost 30Mbps but with a MacBook connected to the same Wi-Fi network, the test result was 230Mbps, the same result as my cellphone. My ISP change the router for a new one, but the problem persisted. The cable I'm using is on my pc is a Cat 8by amazon basics. Tried reinstalling the LAN drivers but nothing happened. I believe is a hardware problem but don't know what else to do. My router is a Arris, and the internet comes thru coaxial cable. My previous speed was 60 but don’t know why was limited to 20ish mbps. According to my isp the problem is on my end. Because on three devices my MacBook, my iPhone and the isp´s laptop the speed test was ok.
The ASUS motherboard got 2 ports Intel® I219V, Dual interconnect between the Integrated Media Access Controller (MAC) and Physical Layer (PHY) and Aquantia AQC111C 5G LAN
Currently the internet cable is on the 5g lan.
Yesterday I was downloading MSFS 2020 on steam, the maximum speed was 3 to 4 mb tops. YouTube and internet browsing are slow too.

So that confused me for a bit...5g wifi and 5gbit ports. I was going how did you plug a cable into the wifi network. That is a chipset I had not seen before.

What happens if you use the intel port instead.

There have been massive numbers of posts on the 2.5g ports from even intel. I suspect it is a similar issue with 5g ports. They seem to not have the drivers stable on these faster ports. Microsoft is also being "helpful" 🙁 and updating drivers. It is very hard to find stable drivers for these devices.

Asus also ends to bundle "gamer" network accelerators that cause all kinds of problems. uninstall any QoS or gamer network software.
Hi, thanks for your answer. Changed the cable but the problem persists. When I do a speed test goes up and down starts at 60mbps and stars going down, like a heartbeat, and in 20 stops.
