Fast internet but slow when downloading games?

I currently have a 1gbps internet subscription but whenever i download any games either from steam or other platforms,it's always 2-30+ mb/s download speed.And when i download nvidia drivers,it utilized it's full speed and usually takes about 2 second to download a nvidia driver from geforece experience.I use speedtest and the download and upload speed is 970+ mbps.

Is there any settings i must change?I did set the max download speed to max in steam,origin,uplay etc but still very slow.it usually takes 5-30 mins to download a single game.

I'm using asus rt-ac5300 router + cat7 lan cable+ intel I219-V motherboard ethernet port.

A help would be awsome to save me alot of time.

Sounds like you have found not all web services can utilize your 1gps internet! Best option is to try changing server location, in steam I swapped to Manchester and speeds dbled compared to London.

How do you change server location on steam?Can't seem to find an option for that though :/

settings,downloads, download region.

Same as the other guy , I get better speeds from a server 150miles away than I do from one 6 miles away.
