I'm looking for a photo cataloger/organizer. I used to use iView and loved it but it hasn't existed for years. Lightroom had corrupted a bunch of images years ago and Adobe's response was basically "oops". I'm using ACDSee Pro 8 but cataloging is incredibly slow.

I have photos on several external drives and a NAS unit on my network. They consist of JPG and RAW files. Every few years I feel like I'm starting the cataloging process over again and it's become very annoying.

I want to see everything in thumbnails (both online and offline photos), detect and remove duplicates, and have some tagging system that I can presumably use with other software if I should have to change again (metadata?) Any suggestions?

Thanks. I'll give those a try. LR was causing some weird floating file corruption. I had a few files that started to display with odd colors and patterns like an incomplete photo looking almost as if it was given a glitch effect. I copied the same files from a backup source and they would do the same. I then deleted those files rather than just overwrite those bad files and the corruption moved to the next photos in the series. I throughly tested the hard drive for bad sectors and did exhaustive troubleshooting with Adobe and finally...

Thanks Adobe.
