Fast Thermal Paste Application Question

I'm swapping out the CPU in my PC. The new CPU has no thermal paste applied to it, but I use a Kraken x62 cooling system with Pre-Applied thermal paste. However, this cooling unit was used on my current building for about 6 months. So I want to know if I need to apply a new bead of thermal paste to my CPU, even though the Kraken x62 unit has it pre-applied

Main reason I'm asking is because I've never upgraded this component, and I"m not sure how much efficiency of the pre-applied paste is lost after 6 months of usage.

Edit: Solved, You do need to re-apply after swapping hardware. Thanks everyone!

Thermal paste once used is never recommended to be reused, as most of it can peel off during the substituition process. Besides they are inexpensive. This is one of the best thermal pastes, that you should apply. See if you can source it locally...
