Hi guys,

So i'm building a pc with my GF for her birthday.
It HAS to be a desktop pc, no laptop, that's not my choice but hers.

The pc is only for web browsing and schoolwork (word, excel, etc....). but it has to be very fast in those applications. She's not a gamer at all.

Their is no real budget, it just has to be as cost-effective as possible.

Also since we're unable to provide a Ethernet cable (i tried pushing to get one but no) and WiFi is not the best i opted for an power line solution. (i used EoP as a acronym for that)

She's not very good with pc's so i preferred to just get 1 drive and not a SSD + HDD setup because i know she'll fill up the SDD and leave the HDD anyways.

I'm ordering all those components from amazon.de

CPU: I3 6100 € 125,00
Motherboard: MSI MB B150M PRO-VD € 65,00
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB € 80,00
SSD: Samsung 750 500GB € 130,00
PSU: Corsair CP-9020095 350W € 38,00
EoP: TP-Link TL-PA411KIT € 38,00
Case: Corsair Carbide 100R € 60,00
Monitor: LG 24MB56HQ € 130,00

Could you please give some suggestions on what i can improve?

Thanks in advance,

Thanks for the fast answers.

@GamerBoy357
The ASUS H110M-K motherboard is €8 cheaper, should i get that one or do i lose some use full feature's downgrading to H110?

@Trafalgar747
So i'm going for the CXM450W. I like that it's modular, great suggestion.
The 850 is €30 more, do you think that's worth it?

@WiiUMasterGman
I don't know the AMD chips as well, if you can suggest a cpu/mobo combo that's cheaper and does the job as well, that would be nice :). It also has to be quite durable (At least 6 years).

Well the X4-860K is a solid option for a low budget machine but at the same time you also do not need an i3 for the purposes of what you want to do. A Pentium G4400 would a good low cost option., There's two ways you could do this. Intel:

@WiiUMasterGman

Thanks for the effort but i'm not really sold on AMD now. Also the manifacturers components listed (like psu and asrock)mobo) i don't trust.

@g-unit1111

Those are solid builds, but a little too low end for me. considering i'm ordering everything from amazon the prices are more and i want 16Gb RAM and a higher capacity SSD, it's not that much cheaper.

Thanks you all guys for the fast and thorough responses, i think i have the final build:

CPU: I3 6100 € 125,00
Motherboard: ASUS H110M-K € 57,00
RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB € 80,00
SSD: Samsung 750 500GB € 130,00
PSU: Corsair CXM 450W € 45,00
