fast writes - on/off 9800p

is it better to turn off fast writes for better performance
or quality
BBA 9800p 128mb (cat 4.5 )
its on by default

when fast writes are on they are for better performance.

It provides direct communication with the GPU (i'm pretty sure)😛

ATI cards dont like Fast Writes as it causes instability, and theres no performance gain from turning it on

Why exactly do ATI cards dislike Fast Writes?

probably just the way the cards are designed, or the way the drivers are written. from what im reading at the Rage3d.com forums, apparently the new Catalyst 4.6's are MUCH better with fast writes, and alot of people who do graphics and stuff are actually using it now with no problems.. people have said that now that fast writes arent "broken" anymore, theres still no performance gains for gaming
