I have one 16GB stick of hyperx fury DDR4 RAM at 2400mhz. My motherboard which is a ASUS B150 Pro Gaming/AURA claims to only support 2133mhz and same with my CPU which is a Intel i3-6300.
When I put the system together the RAM ran at 2133mhz without a hitch.
I went into the BIOS and enabled XMP. That gave me the option to change the frequency of the RAM, with the default being 2133mhz. It allowed me to go up to 2400mhz or above.
what I was wondering was if I did put the RAM speed up to 2400mhz, the default speed of the RAM, if it would damage any of the other components, or if even having XMP enabled even at 2133mhz would damage anything?
Thanks in advance
