Faster? SSD Raid or...

I have 3 GTX nutrons in Raid 0 I am considering purchasing http://www.amazon.com/Intel-Solid-State-Series-SSDPEDMW400G4R5-PCI-Express/dp/B00UHJJQAY/ref=pd_rhf_dp_p_img_10?ie=UTF8&refRID=04K5PV1BNHSRBT85E8D9
to replace the raid array will this be faster then my raid0?

It will read faster, and most likely boot faster as you won't have RAID drivers to worry about. Err, rather, it should be faster, as to how much faster, not sure, but Intel makes some great drives, if a bit pricey.

yes it should be a fair bit faster. sata 6 tops out at 600mb while pci-e 3 handles 7+Gb per lane and.
the raid itself will top out at round 540MBps but that pci-e ssd will top out at around 2.2GB.

pci-e3 x4 31.5Gb,
pci-e3 x16 126Gb
are the theoretical limits of the pci-e 3 slot depending on lane count.

this is faster than 5 SSD in Raid 0 and has IOPS SSD Raid 0 can never reach.

The neutrons have IOPS of 100k READ and 90K IOPS write ONLY

the Intel has CRAZY 430K IOPS Read and 230K IOPS Write

you are getting 4 times the speed of your RAID 0 !!!
