Question Fastest build for thermohydraulic simulation?

I need three new PCs for thermohydraulic power plant simulation. Graphics are not important at all. CPU Clock speed is everything. RAM speed is important. Hard drive speed is probably not that important.

Any suggestions as to a CPU / Motherboard combination?

What software will you be using? How many cores can the software utilize well? How much ram does the simulation need 8GB, 64GB or more?
What's your approximate budget. I.e. are Xeon, Threadripper or Epyc in your budget.
You should also ask on a site related to the specific software you are using or contact the software vendor to get the answer to these questions.

How multi-threaded is the software? With properly written software, more cores can be faster than fewer faster cores.

Here’s a summary of the suggested PC build for thermohydraulic power plant simulations:

  • CPU:AMD Ryzen 5 7600X 4.7 GHz 6-Core Processor
    • High clock speed, ideal for simulation tasks.
  • CPU Cooler:Noctua NH-D15 82.5 CFM CPU Cooler
    • Excellent cooling performance to maintain stable temperatures.
  • Motherboard:MSI MAG X670E TOMAHAWK WIFI ATX AM5 Motherboard
    • Robust power delivery and support for high-speed RAM.
This build is well-balanced and should perform efficiently for your simulations for about $550. Overclocking to 5.2 - 5.4 GHz is usually a good chance.

What is the app that you intend to use?
Does it have a forum or hardware recommendations?
Do you have a budget?
Most simulations are single threaded so, yes, clock speed is important.
But that is not the whole story, the number of instructions per clock makes a difference.
