Hi,

I want to buy a new laptop or desktop for powerful processing. When i searched i come across SSD instead of going for normal mechanical hard drive.

Which is the fastest Hard disk to go ?
Which is the best brand in terms of hard disk?
What is the maximum read/write we can achieve?

Thanks

Solution
SSD is faster than a mechanical drive(HDD). Also M.2 SSD's in NVMe form are faster than a 2.5" SSD. What motherboard are you working with if you're buying a desktop? On second thoughts you might want to list your proposed build specs for us to see if you're on the right path.

About the laptop, most laptops now will have an M.2 SSD on it, but the specs and brand of the SSD will not be mentioned on the specs page of the laptop. You could go through reviews of laptops to understand what's in them.
