Fastest Intel for Rampage VI Extreme

What is the fastest Intel CPU that can be used on the Asus Rampage VI Extreme? And is it likely that Intel will be coming out with faster Cpu that can be used on the VI?

Fastest is 7980XE, will there be another CPU on that socket? Should be Kabylake-X when it comes out, but you never know.

Would there be advantages with the Kabylake-X? I do mostly video processing.

I will be a little faster clock for clock, will it have more core's? Possibly.
Its really up to Intel to see where they take Kabylake-X since it isn't out yet (I am not including the 7740x and 7640x as real processors for that socket.

They are skipping Kabylake-X since they already released chips under that name. The i7-7740x and i5-7640x.

Next release on the roadmap is Cascadelake-X expected in late 2018, should still be LGA2066 and X299.
