Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could tell me what the fastest/best possible graphics card would be for the system below. I know the link mentions the AMD Radeon HD 7650A, but I am hoping that there is a later one that is much better and compatible, since the Radeon is only barely better than the built in HD graphics. My hope is to turn the machine into something capable of doing at least PS2 emulation. Thanks.

Solution
MXM card compatibility is not standaradized as well as PCIe. Your computer's vBIOS may limit possible card compatibility. So, the 7650a may be the only option. Also, it may have to be the specific 7650a HP makes for that model.

Going by this thread. You aren't going to have much luck. At least a hard time with troubleshooting. But the author got a GeForce M2200m to work. You can dig through it to see if anyone got any other cards to work.

that will need a low profile card that draws all power from the PCIe socket.

normally, I'd say a 1030, 1050, or 1050ti, but they are ridiculously priced...

normally, I'd say a 1030, 1050, or 1050ti, but they are ridiculously priced roght now:

cheapest low profile1050ti: $355

1030 $94

that looks more reasonable, but it should be something like a $50-60 card

The Ultra-Slim variant uses an MXM slot for the GPU. Not PCIe.
