I have built a new computer with the following spec
CPU AMD Athlon XP 1800+
Motherboard ASUS A7V266-E VIA KT266A
Hard drive(s) 2 X figitsu PicoBird 16H 40.9GB <--(Raid0)
& 1 X figitsu PicoBird 16H 20.4GB
RAM Crucial 768MB PC2100 DDR
CDRW Aopen CD-RW 32r 12w 10rw
CD/DVD Pioneer 40xCD 16xDVD Int IDE Tray OEM
Sound card Intergrated
Graphics card ATI All In Wonder Radion 32Mb AGP
My problem is when I set up the two 40 gigs on the promise IDE 1 and IDE 2 channels as raid 0. When I try to format them I keep getting the following error log and temporary system hangs
"The description for Event ID ( 9 ) in Source ( Fasttrak ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. The following information is part of the event: \Device\Scsi\Fasttrak1."
After doing some testing i found that the problem was specific to the secound promise IDE channel and what ever hard drive in what ever setup I put on it I would still get the same error. The opposite is true of the first promise IDE channel.
Dose anyone know why this is happening and how it can be resolved?
