Question "Fatal DirectX 11" errors while playing FF14

Hello,

I hope this isn’t the wrong place to post this.

I’m an avid mmorpg player especially FF14. I have a gaming laptop and a gaming desktop.

While playing 14 on my gaming desktop (newer-ish system, maybe half to a year old now) I’ve been receiving literally over and over again in the middle of fights, standing around doing nothing on the game etc. these fatal DirectX 11 errors. Never got them before at all on any system until maybe about 2-3 weeks ago.

It’s been inconsistent but it’s been maybe around a few hours or more while playing the game when they start happening. I also opened something on the FF14 tech forums but nothing I’ve tried from there has been working. Anyone willing to do a bit of a deep dive with me on this?

I'll add specs down below but if you need specifics just let me know. I'm a little new to the forums not sure how to go about putting up DxDiag/System info on here without going over any limis in the post. I set up my pc myself with help from a family member so I can also open up the tower if need be also.

What I’ve done so far:

-Reinstall FF14 on C drive and G drive, both are M.2 drives.

-Run FF14 as admin with full optimizations disabled

-Reinstall graphics drivers I have a Nvidia RTX 4090. Tried Nvidia’s 546.33-546.29 driver versions. still got the errors on all of them. Also tried with DDU in safe mode to uninstall the drivers and restarted windows in between installing the new drivers.

-Ran the windows memtest tool which resulted in passes

-Playing in 1440p and turned graphics settings down

-Turned off intel speedstep in the bios

-Haven’t played with any overlays

-Don’t play with anything running in the background (browsers or multiple tabs etc)

-Updated windows 11

-Updated other software

-updated drivers for other parts in my comp

This is the only game where I’ve been experiencing this. Any other game would play fine regardless of the graphics driver version. For example something newer like Baldur’s Gate 3.

I’m only seeing this behavior on my desktop. My laptop isn’t THAT new but it has a RTX 3070 TI I believe? At 1440p with similar settings it never crashes. I’m pretty confident it’s isolated to my setup on my desktop.

Sorry I should've had that in my post first. Added screenshots of what I tend to see. I mainly get the first pic which is the "A fatal DirectX error has occurred.(11000002)" error.
