Fatal Error code 38 with my graphics driver.

I'm playing Just Cause 3 on my:
FX 6300 cpu
R9 270X 2GB gpu
8gb RAM
650w power supply

I am playing just cause 3 on medium settings because I wanted to get the best out of my FPS.

At a certain point in the game not too far in my game crashes and i get an error which says:

A FATAL ERROR OCCURRED IN THE GRAPHICS DRIVER.
CODE:38
RESULT: 'DEVICE REMOVED, REASON, DXGI_ERROR_DEVICE_HUNG: GRAPHICS DEVICE STOPPED RESPONDING. THERE MIGHT BE AN INFINITE LOOP IN GPU PROGRAM.'

Can anyone explain to me how I can fix this?

Is that the only game this happens in? If yes, update the video card driver and also check for game updates.

I have the same components and get the same issue with JC3. Only two things helped (but not solved) the issue: reduce the maximum core clock speed by at least 1% (below 1120) and in the game settings turn 'On' for the 'SSR'. Changing the settings from Medium to Low does not help. Turning 'Off' the water tessellation might also help. The coders know about the issue and are working on it - expect solutions in a few weeks or months. Patch 1.02 did not work and maybe made things worse.
