I get this message when i try and install my second m.2 device.

An m.2_2 socket can only support PCIE devices.
Using an m.2 sata device will not work on this socket.
Fatal Error

I have the new Asus Z390-A motherboard.

I currently have a 1tb wd blue HDD as a secondary.
The primary boot device is my m.2 sata wd blue 500gb

Please help!!!

Solution
The message is pretty clear....

The Z390-A has 2x M.2 slots.
One can use either PCIe/NVMe drives OR SATA based M.2's.
The other, is PCIe ONLY.

So, on that board you can only use a single SATA-based M.2 If you want to use a second M.2 form-factor drive, it must be PCIe.
