Hi. I have problem with my new GT 730.
When I thought that I've already fixed it by changing new monitor, a problem occur again.

System runs pretty smooth for X hours so as HD videos and any other apps.

But in some demanding and 3D games I'm getting error about nv4_disp stop working, sometimes BSOD.
Windows turns into 640x480 and colors gets all pale and faded.
Weird is that I can play those game in window mode with no errors or crashs
I tried to downgrade on 3 last nvidia drivers, no change.

Is nv4_disp dispaly driver error caused by graphic card itself (faulty/overheating) or it's just bad driver? Or it can be everything else starts from slow CPU and overheating other components to outdated Win Xp system?

Solution
Just wanted to tell others who has same problem..I think I already solved it for good.. I installed very old nvidia driver 337.50 (not from nvidia site but from official Gigabyte site, directly on my gpu - GT 730) and now everything works fine, no Bsod or nv4 error after 6 hours of playing. Just little problem with old game when it comes to resolution - causes OpenGl error but that's prolly new monitor fault but demanding newer 3D games running smoothly. So I hope I won't get any more fatal errors.

First download Display Driver Uninstaller. This will help you uninstall and clean up any traces of your old driver. After that go and download GeForce experience and let the program get the best drivers for you. See if it helps, report back with your results.

It does sound like a GPU issue due to the changes it makes to your graphics after the error, if it was a problem with the CPU overheating the odds are it would freeze completely or just crash instantly.

I would try first doing a clean install of your graphics drivers, go to the nvidia website and download them. You have the option to perform a 'clean' install I would recommend doing this.

If this doesn't solve your issue try monitoring your GPU temps by using HWMonitor http://
Just open the software and play a game for an hour see what your temps go up to.

Let me know if this helps.

Also... If you are still on XP you deserve this haha (Upgrade man!)

Windows XP being ghetto and unsupported by Microsoft is not the end of the world, and doesn't mean you can't get a working driver for your graphics card from the manufacturer.

The GeForce 9 series for example; the official support from Nvidia stopped long ago and I still get drivers for it from GeForce experience.

If a company stops releasing drivers you just keep using the last legacy driver until your graphics card is outdated enough for you to give up on it. The GT 730 is still supported on Windows XP.
