Hi

I have a Sapphire Dual-X R9 280 graphics card which I bought four months ago. It has worked fine and hasn't show any signs of problems, overheating or the like.

Last night i was playing football manager and after 5 minutes my screen went completely green whereby I couldn't even run task manager or get back to desktop. I turned off the pc and when i turned it on, my screen was black. Another point to note is that since the green screen of death, my screen is always blacked out and when i press the power button, the PC switches off immediately, as though windows has not even been loaded (before it would take 30 seconds or so to shut down).

I have opened up my box and the graphics card looks to be running fine (has a blue light on and the fans are spinning)

I then put back in my old graphics card and now it works fine (using the PC as I write). I then put back the new graphics card and the same problem occurs. Black screen and instant switch off when pressing the power button(!).

I have removed the bios chip to reset bios to no avail. Could it be that I have broken my card or is there something I can do to get it working again?

My spec is 2.5ghz quad core, 4gb ram (800mhz), 1tb hard drive, 850watt psu. Motherboard is Asus p5kpl-am-se. I checked before i bought the card and it was completely compatible (allegedly!)

I am waiting for AMD to respond to my emails but its been nearly two days and they haven't.

Let me know if you need anymore info. Thanks!
