Hello, I fairly recently started having BSOD on my PC and I was considering building a new one before hand so I did. I assumed it was the ram because of the odd behaviour. However now in my newly built pc I still get crashes, although only while playing Days Gone it seems. I haven't tried running any other particular demanding game. I don't know what do to tbh. The power supply is a few years old at this point. The outlet isn't grounded.

If crashes only happen in one game, it's an issue with the game. A fellow mod thought his new GPU was bad, until he realized that it only happened in one game. He created a profile for that game with reduced clocks and 99% load and he can play it now. You might have a similar issue?

I wouldn't just replace random parts. You need to test things to see what's up. Temps? Voltages? Are the clock speeds right? You should investigate before just buying new parts.

I can now confirm that it also crashed during Insurgency Sandstorm. So I don't think it's just the game. Is it possible to make a log or something similar with information about temps/voltage etc as I can't wouldn't recall as I'm playing and/or have time to notice any spikes? The only thing in common with this pc and the old one is the PSU and storage.

I ran Cinebench and Heaven for an hour, no crashes. 100 C on 12400f, although I'm temporary using the stock cooler as I'm waiting for a new bracket, 1.198V max @ 4.4ghz boost.

Rtx 3070 70, 85 C hotspot, max 1.081V. Graphics 1980mhz, memory 7000mhz, video 1740mhz.

Corsair CX750M, about 3-5 years old. Can't remember when I had the old one replaced.

I used to have windows 10 but installed windows 11 from a USB-drive when I built the new one.
Lets wait until you get that cooler bracket in assuming you already have the nh-d14 cooler and actually test it out on the cpu. If low temps but still crashing we could troubleshoot

If it is to any help, these are the error messages I got on the OLD system;

UNEXPECTED_KERNEL_MODE_TRAP
SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION
SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED
REFERENCE_BY_POINTER
APC_INDEX_MISMATCH
PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGE_AREA
KMODE_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED

I don't get any bluescreen or error codes on the new build. It doesn't seem to create any minidumps either.

If you need to run a D14 cooler for a 12400f, something is SERIOUSLY wrong.

What are your FULL hardware specs including motherboard, exact memory kit model, model and age of attached storage devices.

Did you "upgrade" your old Windows 10 installation or did you do a CLEAN install where you delete ALL of the existing partitions on the OS drive (Including the hidden partitions) and then install to the unpartitioned, unformatted space?

Also, a 3-5 year old CXm power supply with an RTX 3070 is not a very good pairing. If that CXm is between 3 and 5 years old and has been run hard fairly regularly or for frequent extended gaming sessions, it might be a really good idea to start by replacing it with something substantially better. The CXm units, especially the older ones, were basically the bare minimum we'd recommend in terms of quality for anybody running a discreet gaming card of any moderately capable flavor.

HOW MANY passes of Memtest86 passed without any error? Did you run it for FOUR FULL PASSES of all 11 tests, or just one pass?
