Hello,
I had a coolit eco 240mm for 2 years now and before 3 hours my cpu started overheating.I rea-applied thermal paste but nothing, the radiator fans are spinning but when i connect the cable to the cpu fan pins it doens't recognised. So i am planning to buy a new cooler, air or water and i have concerns that a huge air cooler wouldn't fit well because i have tall ram.I wonder if you can help me with my issue.
Thanks in advance.

I have a similar situation on my i7 920 desktop, and I have 6x2GBs of the Corsair Dominator with the tall heat spreaders. When I built that desktop the only heatsink that worked (clearance-wise) was the Cooler Master V8. It is running for almost 3 years with a 42% overclock.

On my i7 3770K desktop I have Corsair Vengeance with the tall heat spreaders ans there was a clearance issue with the CM Hyper 212 EVO heatsink. My solution was to grind off 1 mm thickness for a 10 mm height from the bottom of the heatsink fan. Works very well; almost a year now.

Arctic cooling freezer pro has great reviews and will dissipate 130 watts (the CPU TDP must be less than this). Let me know what CPU you have and I will check this for you.

It looks very similar to CM Hyper 212 EVO that I have on my overclocked i7 3770K.

I have installed the arctic cooling and works great, keeps my i7 920 oc to 3.2 under 70 celcius while playing metro last light.
😀

The i7 920 has a TDP of 130 watts and the heatsink you installed is also rated for 130 watts. They will work together well.

Our i7 920 desktop has a CM V8 heatsink and it is overclocked to 3.82 GHz at 1.275V. Fine with games BF3, Assassin's Creed, COD Black Ops, etc.
