Hi,

I have a problem with faxing. My laptop is connected to my telephone line
via the modem and I use it to send and receive faxes.

When my telephone rang an icon used to appear in my system tray which
allowed me to manually receive faxes. Also, when I sent or received a fax,
fax monitor would display the progress. None of these things happen now.

In Fax Properties, all the items on the Tracking tab are checked.

Can anyone help?

Thanks,
Malcolm

A number of standard update and repair procedures disabled the Fax Monitor
in the initial release of Windows XP. These problems were fixed in Service
Pack 1. Make sure you apply SP1 if you notice this problem. The following

Russ,

Thanks for your reply.

My laptop is at Windows XP Pro SP2 (newly applied).

The Symantec articles are very interesting and i will review and act on
them.

Thank you,
Malcolm

If SP2 is already installed, then you can ignore the part about SP1. SP2
contains the fixes already.
