Hi, So I got the FBI.gov virus when browsing around the internet the other day. I did a lot of research on how to remove the virus but there are several different ways people suggest on how to do it. Some people say it is a virus and others say its not a real virus and simply freezes your browser. Anyways I succeeded in closing my browser after a minute at trying to figure out what was going on. So I was using google chrome and opened the browser and when asked by the browser to restore after crashing I said no. After that my computer seemed fine I did however wipe all browsing data on google chrome and also cleaned up my computer files by deleting a bunch of temporary files.
I did more research and some people said to go to safe mode and change them things in the registry editor but the things other people changed I did not need to change because it didn't do anything. Some people suggest installing some sort of malware removal on my computer but I already have Kaspersky Internet Security Antivirus and it is a paid version. I did a full system scan and did not find anything.
I have windows 8.1, I was using google chrome when I got the virus, and I have Kaspersky antivirus. So my question is do you think I have the virus on my computer or did I get a version of the virus that only locked down my browser and not actually do anything to my computer.
