Regarding the power, I thought, HDMI has a 5V pin for power.

I ordered mine yesterday. Should get it around Aug 7th. As for power if you look on Google's website it said:

USB power cable
Power adapter

So it has to be externally powered.

HDMI does not have a power connection built in. I got mine at Best Buy today - they had them in stock. The thing is slick and simple to use.

If connected to HDMI 1.4 no external PS is required.

If you have an HDMI port marked 1.4 MHL you don't need a power cable, your TV will power it. I have two power HDMI ports on the back of my Sharp LC-60LE757 60-inch Aquos Quattron 1080p 240Hz Smart LED 3D HDTV.
