Fear 3 (Steam) Will Not Play Full Screen

I have the resolution set at 1920x1080 and the windows mode off but there is still a black border. Is there a solution to this?

click the wide screen tab in the options. i think its available in fear 2 but not sure about fear 3 as its been so long since i played it... i only played through it 1s and havent touched it since. it worked fine on my 1080p monitor though.
