Ships can be named via the 'name' command. It is really nice
to name some ships like "going west", "peaceful_explorer", or
"coastmapping you", etc. It would be nice to have commands
to name planes and land units. But instead of using commands
like "pname" and "lname", I'd like to propose something more
realistic.

I think that planes should have their names applied to them by
being painted, by using the "paint" command. Airplanes typically
get painted with their squadron designation or a specific name.

Land units should get their marks via tatoo's, using the "tatoo"
command for the land units, cause all those army guys seem
to have tat's on them to show off that they were shooting
[enemies] in rice patties / jungles / deserts / etc.

This will only increase micromanegement, since now you have to type in "bomb
<squad/designation>" instead of just "bomb 143".

You know, this actually made me laugh out loud :)

Serious again: a command is a verb, and it applies to an object. All
combinations of verbs and objects that make sense should just work. I
don't want to remember whether I have to type `name', `paint',
`tattoo' or `engrave' to name ships, planes, units or sectors. `name'
should just work.
