I'm planning on buying/building this rig, what do you think about it?

-I don't plan to overclock for a long time (until I need to).
-This is for 1080p highest graphical settings gaming.
-Should that motherboard be okay? (If you have another in mind, i'd like it to be blue, so it matches the other parts).
-any tips on a monitor? (Will be buying later, in a month or so. I've got a 32" LED 720p TV ill be using till then).
-I've already got a Razer Naga.
-Is the GTX 970 overkill for 1080p, Ultra graphics settings (on most games, a few exceptions like AC:Unity, Metro, or any other game that are crazy hard to run. Keep in mind, this is for 1080p only).
-I don't really want to spend more then $1650CAD right now (no monitor for now, unless GPU is downgraded, but I don't want cheap parts, quality, respected brands only please).
Thanks alot!
PS. I was looking at the Corsair Carbide Series Air 540, is this better then the NZXT H440? (All air-cooling)
EDIT: I want a case that has exceptional air-flow. I've never built before, so i want the case to be easy to build in.

If you're not gonna overclock, i5-4690k is meaningless. Get an i5 4690k non k. GTX 970 will let you play 1080p for the next 2-3 years. The motherboard is ok, I would pay 20 CAD more for the Asus Z97-A. For the keyboard, you should consider getting yourself a mechanical one. It is so much more comfortable. The Logitech G710+ and CM Storm Quickfire Rapid are great $100 mechanical keyboards. Lastly, the Air 540 will have much better airflow but has no dust filter on one side (on the top I believe). But then again the H440 doesn't have a dust filter on the top either. The H440 will be much more quiet because it is built to be quiet.

I thought the whole point behind getting a z97 mobo is for overclocking, so if im not going to overclock, why would I buy a more expensive z97?

So I wont be missing out on anything with the PC mate?(Single GPU, very light future overclocking) What about cases? is the Corsair Air 540 worth it?

What sort of games do you play? If they are reaction based quick fps games then I would suggest a 1080p 144hz tn panel for that gpu. If you are playing games that don't demand you to have insane twitch reactions then that gpu and coy could power a 1440p 60hz ips panel at high-ultra. Also take a look at the games you play. If it's only the newest and most beautiful games then maybe 1080p is best for you in the future but if it's the same games everyone plays like csgo tf2 Dota LoL smite and that lot 1440p is perfect
