ADDITIONAL COMMENTS:
I'm thinking the RTX 4060 8GB, while overkill compared to the CPU, is a good upgrade because it's TDP is really low (115 Watts) compared to ANY other desktop GPU that I can find near it's performance range, and is even seems to be slightly lower than the TDP of the existing GTX 1070.

From what I can tell, at its price point, it seems to be a good option that allows me to leave the PSU alone (yes, maybe I should have sprung for the 850 Watt PSU way back when, but I didn't 😳).

Looking mainly at:

GIGABYTE - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 WINDFORCE OC 8GB GDDR6 PCI Express 4.0 Graphics Card - Black

Any feedback appreciated on whether this does seem like a good idea, or a terrible idea and why.

Thanks much!

Make and model of the PSU in your prebuilt? How old is the unit?

Stock 460W PSU
5 year old PSU
Yes, it would be 5 years old now.
Make and model is a very good question... It's a Dell switching power supply, made by Delta Electronics Power Co. Ltd. The Model # is Chinese characters. Next line is D460AM-03, so maybe that is the model #?
Ref. #: DPS-460-DB-15 A

Hope that helps.
