Feeling lost .. Water Cooling Confusion

I plan on installing a custom water loop for my PC. I've been researching extensively for awhile now and I'm starting to feel a bit lost.

I will be running a single loop configuration with 1 GPU and 1 CPU being cooled only. I am a complete WC noob so I don't understand any of the push/pull stuff or where to place components and rads in the loop. Confused to the point where I'm actually considering just copying the loop from this video because I have the same case. it's not a bad set-up but i would put together a set-up your comfortable with. I suggest using frozengpu.com to find all your parts if your wanting to go custom. otherwise if your truely afraid/confused about water cooling you could pick up a closed loop cooler.

my suggestion is you build your own as performance will be better. i suggest you get a dual/single bay reservoir with a pump that can be attached. personally i went with a dual bay by koolance that allows for serial or parrellel operation of two pumps/reservoirs. i chose to run serial so if one pump fails my system doesn't fry 😉 plus it allows me to increase/decrease my flow. anyways make a list of what your needs are and built a water cooling system accordingly. don't...

If I have 1/2" tubing how do I know what fittings and pump to get?

and also how do I figure out how many 90 degree elbow fittings I need and what not
 
what kind of fitting is up to you. i have used them all and prefer barb though i know alot of people like compression fittings (i have had to many of those leak due to having to small a ridge). AS for how many elbows and what not....i use no elbows personally just straight barbed connectors. you need at least 2 barbs/compression fittings pre-part...ie 2 for your pump. two per water block...2 for your reservoir (unless your pump is attached directly to your reservoir then just two for both)
