And the sheep go "baaaaaaaaaa".

2 questions.

1. If this is Fermi, where are the performance graphs?

2. If this is Fermi, are Nvidia actually contemplating releasing the workstation cards with the release drivers of a brand new card? (for those that don't know - workstation cards are never released with immature drivers)

first you didnt believe that gt 300 exist and and you can see it does. Performance graphs will be soon, Nvidia now waiting ati to release Ati 5870x2 card and see it performance. This is just Nvidia strategy.

One gt 300 will be more than enough

"The card was just a normal looking dual-slot card that was no longer or larger than anything on the market today."

thats good news

where is now ati fanboys to see this 15 inch long card... and one more time by by ati see you in the next round

John_ you are somewhat deluded.

You see a picture of a graphics card, with no benchmarks, no details etc and conclude that ati are somehow 'beaten' by it even though it won't be released for 6 months.

By the time this is released, ATI will already have 80% of the discrete gpu market, the only 20% that are left with Nvidia are the especially deranged who believe this is actually a real working card.

just check this out, this need time to be finished

I see a graphics card.

I see a a GPU chip.

I see nothing that confirms either is G300.

Nvidia's "strategy" is to surrender the mid to high end DX11 market to ATi until ATi get round to releasing the x2?

If ATi release Juniper soon, then Nvidia surrender the entire mid to high end DX11 market to ATi.

Sounds like a brilliant strategy to me. :pt1cable:

Leader?

Of what? Nvidia are not sure what they want to do these days... build graphics cards? build co-processor accelerators?

As an engineer that specialises in numerical work, that interests me tremendously. As a gamer, it does not.

Devoting transistors to CUDA means they are compromising their graphics performance, perhaps severely.

While Nvidia dreams of some fantasyland where their gpu's boot up everyone's pc's to a picture of JHH, the games devs are creating games on 5870's because that is what they do to make money.

Nvidia will aslo GX2 card you cant remeber that...better do your homework next time

Fudzilla, who have been telling us that g300 was due in september, then october, then november and now 'within a few months'.

(I don't believe fudzilla is considered a quality source, here or anywhere else).

1. Fuad claims they will.

2. What are the modified clock speeds going to be?

3. Never mind (2), what are the single GPU clock speeds going to be?!? What is the thermal envelope at those clock speeds?

4. What will a card with > 6 billion transistors cost?

5. How much graphics have Nvidia compromised for compute? (Many sheep believe the two go happily hand-in-hand forever - they do not)

So many unknowns. Life would be so much simpler if I was a sheep incapable of thinking for myself and believing everything that comes from Nvidia's PR speils.

Its a short period of time to see any real dx 11 game. Till that time Nvidia will have dx 11 cards in all segments. People always want better and they will wait for it.

yes but they will reduce memory bus from 512 to 384 to reduce the cost

Anyone with half an idea will see that the "card " being shown is nothing more than an empty shell. Why is there a black plate on the back of the card if not to cover this fact ?
There are several reasons for beleiving this is all smoke and mirrors but i wont bother posting them for john to try and counter argue.
I can see the "Card" is an empty case and some reviewers that have been linked are a bit dubious as well.

Nobody actually believes its a fermi card, all of the reviewers kept saying stuff like 'apparently' while talking about the card.

Until we see some benchmarks, it doesn't even exist. ATI were right, they really are 6 months ahead.

how sad is this, poor ati fanboy

You are one sick as in ill individual you know that ? :pt1cable: How does defeat come in to things ? i don't work for AMD/ATI so how can i admit any defeat or claim any success ???

Nvidia may well produce a card to trounce the 5 series, when they finally get around to producing one, but i personally couldnt care less one way or another as im not in the market for bleeding edge as far as the GPU goes.
What i am in the market for is being straight with people. Now while i enjoy a round of speculating as much as the next guy, when the tech journo's that were there recon its an empty shell and most people can see it looks like an empty shell, well lets just say its the green team keeping up to form shall we :kaola: I will give you one reason of the several i mentioned as well. There is no weight on the thumb holding the "Card" :ouch: :ouch: . Now i know that a GPU (The CHIP john the CHIP)that big is going to weigh quite a bit and i also know that much smaller cards weigh enough to put a small crease in my thumb. So either the guy holding it has super hard hands or else the card is a fake ?
{edit for spelling}
