"Performance wise, once again we can confirm that multiple sources strongly believe that a single core Fermi will end up significantly faster than ATI’s single core Radeon 5870."

I believe I can fly,
I believe I can touch the sky,
I think about it every night and day,
Spread my wings and fly away,
I believe I can soar,
I see me running through that open door,
I believe I can fly

Doesn't mean I can though does it?

Ooo ...snap!

Maybe when it actually launches... next year!

Okay, John, seriously wtf?

While I am waiting for the Fermi, and can see early December as a small possibility, a Fuad article from months ago hardly counts as credible evidence anymore.....

Be gone troll!

The article linked was dated yesterday.

It's all hearsay and rumour and as such may or may not be true or come to pass, and as long as people keep that in mind then speculation can be amusing but if this just becomes another flaming, baiting insult strewn thread then it goes bye bye.

Again, they say 'launch', not 'available in stores'. Could be the same thing, or not, but unless the card were a complete failure (ie., does not run. period) they had better be able to get a few cards out to reviewers and have a 'launch', otherwise they are not going to have a very happy holiday season.

And I love the 'strongly believe' garbage, if they don't know yet, things may be worse off than originally thought.

Ummmmm I would kinda hope it would be or else that would be the worlds biggest fail ever... Release your card 3 months later then the competition and have it underperform the competition when we already know the competitions benchmarks. Ya that sure is a sound idea.

lol isn't that what happened with the 2900xt's?? LOL

Unlike the FX which had no offspring, and at least the R600 series can still play DX10 games at DX10 settings though (even if at lower res), so not the biggest fail.

But both the FX series and the R600 (and to a lesser extent the late Voodoo series) give an indication as to what happens when the mfrs go in a different direction than the strict D3D path for innovation.
