Hello,

My 5 years old pc has few problems for a quite lot of time.
Sometimes when i turn it on ,the computer itself turns on but the monitor stays in "power saving mode" and i have to reset the cmos battery and restart the computer like ten times to make it work again.
the second issue is that i have lower fps than expected in many games i play, for example i watched benchmark videos with very similar pc specs to mine about assassins creed odyssey and they were getting like 30-35 fps on high settings and meanwhile i am getting only 15 fps at maximum on medium settings!!! and my nvidia drivers are up to date, something is clearly wrong.

i have GTX 960 2GB, intel core i5 3470 3.2GHz, 16 GB RAM

maybe these issues are connected to each other and i will really appreciate if someone would give me an idea how to solve them.

My operating system is windows 10. what do you mean by make and model of pc?

PSU is seasonic 430w, dont remember the exact model and its about five years old.

Make/Manufacturer: e.g., Dell, HP, Lenovo, etc.. Models: product lines within the manufacturer's offerings.

My first thought was that your PSU is likely starting to fail in some manner. At that age, the PSU is likely becoming less able to support the rated load of 430 watts (ideally determined).

And as more and more higher wattage components are added in directly or used to replace an existing component then the gap between available wattage to demanded wattage widens. All sorts of problems start happening.

PC make and model information is relevant because some systems and builds simply use underpowered and/or cheap components. PSUs being particularly suspect. Good brands go bad. Age and condition degrade performance.

Consider that that may be what is happening with respect to your system.

But also consider that there are still some things you can look into: have you ever replaced the CMOS battery?

Take a look at Task Manager and Resource Monitor before and while gaming. Look for problems and bottlenecks.

Need to methodically narrow down the list of possible causes.
