FF11 - am I screwed?

Long story short... I got FF11 as a present from a relative from Canada.
Installed without any problems, but when I try to register for
PlayOnline, the only countries it gives me are USA and Canada.
PlayOnline's site was extremely helpful, what with no official forums
and the "all responses will be sent to your PO email account" approach
and I don't think 0800 numbers extend to intercontinental calls.

So, in a nutshell... can I play this game* at all?

Hi

Yes you can!!!

I'm from the UK and had the same problem, simply register with playonline
with an american or canadian address, (either make one up, or ask your
Canadian relative nicely). The billing address you can the set as your
normal home address for whichever country you may be, this is set up later
on.

Oh, and be prepared for about 5+ hours of patching when you first log on to
FFXI, so I'd recommend you leave it going overnight or while at work.

Hope you have broadband!!!

Oh, so basically the "registered" address has nothing to do with the
actual billing information? Cool.

55.6 Kbps; I should get ADSL soon enough {of course, "should" is always
the operative word}, but I figured I'd give it a spin just to see what
it looks like. Guess I should keep waiting, eh?

Anyway, thanks for the help.
