So me and the spouse just moved into this countryside house that has fiber internet cable, it works super fast with the computer but there is no wifi there. The house owner who we are renting from is as tech savvy as we are.. do we get a normal Asus router and just plug the fiber cable in? Will it create a wifi network for us?

Please correct me if I'm wrong, but It appears you may be describing a standard Ethernet cable and not a fiber optic cable, since fiber optic will not normally plug directly into a computer. The fiber optic cable may be feeding your house, but it is likely converted to Ethernet by an optical network terminal (ONT) somewhere around the home.

So if you actually have an Ethernet cable, then you can plug this...
