Fiber on phoneline

I got my my local isp to install a fiber connection in my house.

They installed it with a prolink prs1841 modem.

Thing is it does not have a sc-cs connection - does that necessarily not make it fiber?

I called them and they told me that it is a fiber box in the basement of the building and they use dsl lines to distribute. Is this possible?

My provider cater fiber and dsl. Am I getting the latter?

Is not fiber to desktop (all the way to your PC), is fiber to the DMARC, the technical term for the outside box where ISP equipment and responsibility ends, and your own wirings and responsibility begins.
