Hi everyone, I have a little project going and would like some input. First things first, here is my rig's setup in case it matters:
CPU - AMD FX-8350
Mobo - ASUS M5A99FX R2.0 Pro
RAM - 32 GB Corsair Vengeance DDR3 1600 (PC3 12800) 4x8
GPU - 2x GTX 970 in SLI
Storage - Primary 500 GB SSD, secondary 1 TB HDD, 1 TB external backup
I recently installed a 500 GB SSD and moved a cloned copy of my image from the 1 TB HDD over to it using the proprietary data migration software offered by Samsung. The SSD is now my C drive, while my HDD is now the F drive (the external backup is my E drive, optical drive is D drive). My entire image is backed up roughly once per week to the external drive. RAID is not implemented in this setup. I'll be glad to answer any other configuration questions, so fire away.
So here's what I want to do. I'd like to have Windows and my games (mixture of Steam and GOG) all on the SSD but nothing else. Meanwhile, I'd like to have everything else on the 1 TB HDD, such as Office 2013 and other non-gaming programs and files. I know that it isn't as simple as dragging and dropping, so I was wondering if anybody knew of a program that would aid me in this. I'd prefer to avoid uninstalling and re-installing programs as much as possible. I played around with mlink trying to create symbolic links, but to be honest I'm much more of a networking guy so this isn't a strong suit of mine. Any help is appreciated.
