File association for jpeg attachment to windows mail

Hello,
I cannot find anything on my computer where I can add jpeg so I can open attachments in email. I don't have outlook express, I have windows mail. Can anyone help me?

I just discovered a couple days ago that I can't open any attachments. I had that capability a few months ago - don't know when it changed. I don't get that many emails with attach. I am not technical with computers, so please bear with me. Don't know what you mean by folder options and file type. I did try that but did not understand what I should have chosen. Sorry about this mess.
