My windows 10 file explorer works ok on all drives except one partition at root level. The same partition appears on the list and I can expand it and choose any folder and open the folder, but if I want to open the root the screen goes black and explorer disappears. Can anybody please help with this problem?

Hello secosen

Looks like there is a malicious script or virus sitting right in the root. You can right-click the partition and perform a virus scan using your preferred anti-virus program.

If that doesn't work, you can remove any such object manually using the Command Prompt that you can open by right-clicking the Start button, clicking Command Prompt (Admin), and then using the DIR and DEL commands to view and delete the suspicious files respectively.

Hopes this helps.

Cheers!! :)
