Sorry bout the name change. I have begun the flood on
alt.binaries.games.unreal. ATM I am doing DM files. I don't know how
long this will take, but I will do my best. I have approx 14 cd's, it
could take a while. If they don't work for some reason, contact the
person who made it, cause I have changed nothing. Happy gaming!!!

I'm starting to see them appear on my server! I have already
identified a few that I have already so these must not be unpublished
original works of yours? 14 CD's that's about 600mb per CD and you
could fit 600 1mb maps on one CD! That would be 8,400 1mb maps
roughly!. In any event if you don't have broad band your going to
be posting for a while. I would try to only post from 10 to 50
megabytes every 3 days to try and avoid causing my own posts to
expire early from the server if I were you though!.

Here is a link where I get my UT maps from if you don't mind

That's where I got mine from as well. Actually I have broadband, but in
the event as to help those who don't, I will post relatively short runs
every day. Just thought I'd make use of the newsgroup and maybe help
someone out with new stuff. Yeah, none of it is mine. I'm too busy
playing to learn to make a map myself.

I just thought of something else. You are using Xnews to post the
maps and it is yEnc capable. You could post in yEnc, then you
would be able to post probably around 20 to 60 megabytes every 2
or 3 days instead of just 10 to 50!. The checkbox for yEnc is on
the "4.Attachments" tab where you have to add the files to post
anyway. yEnc adds less header information to the files so they
would probably upload a little quicker as well as download quicker
and would take up less room on the server. Also some files that
would normally be split up into multiparts might just fit in under
the wire and be a single part with yEnc. I see you have Xnews set
to split the files at 8000 lines per part but it will go up to
15000. My server seems to be not requesting the missing parts of
the split up multipart files and most of them are incomplete. :-(
Stupid servers! I wonder why they call them "servers" when they
will serve you one part of a file but not the rest of it?

I would like to ask you what option you have selected on the
"4.Attachments" tab, under where it says "Post attachments..."?
Do you have "together under one subject", "separately", "separately;
Text in 0-part of 1st file", or "separately; Text in 0-part of each
file" selected? I don't think you have this last one selected as
I'm not seeing a bunch or any (0/X) files.

Thanks Dave! I've never heard of astraweb. You are the first
person I've seen using it. I will check them out for sure.
