File lost in pendrive shortcut

my pendrive's name is "kingston"
when i opened my pendrive folder it showed another shortcut for "kingston" and i mistakenly saved an important file outside of it . i checked it twice yesterday it was there but this morning its not there. how can i retrieve it please help me

I don't know what os you are using but if windows have you tried the 'Search programs and files'. I assume you know the name of the file you've misplaced?
