File Recovery Question

Hey TH,

I have a question. After you've reformatted a hard drive and reinstalled an OS, is it possible to recover those reformatted files like photos and documents?

I already had those documents backed up with a 32GB USB, but unfortunately, the 32USB was accidentally moved and prompted a "Scan and Fix" option and hit Scan and Fix. All of the files are gone in the USB and did try to use a recovery tool but I only recovered 100+MB of files out of the 30GB worth of files.

So, what I was thinking of is if it was possible to do a recovery using a software on the reformatted hard drive.

That is a 'possible, leaning to no'.
Have you already 'formatted and installed'?

Yes, I already reformatted and installed the new OS.

At this point, all you can do is try something like Piriforn Recuva.

Don't be surprised if it does not return all the files in their entirety. Or even one of them.
