Question File transfer issue

Hi all. I'm trying to transfer multiple video files between 500-1500Mb each from my old HDD to my new SSD. There are several files that won't move across. I have tried compressing them, copying them, cutting them & using copying software (Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier, FastCopy). The files will transfer into different folders within the same drive but won't move across. All processes freeze at the same point so I guess these files are corrupt but the videos still play when I open them. I also struggle to cancel the transfer and to even restart my computer when this happens (hard reset).
Anybody have any ideas?

Is the SSD formatted as NTFS?
Is the file protected from being moved or copied?
Are you getting any error message?

Hi. Thanks for the reply. Both are NTFS. No files are protected, it is my PC so there shouldn't be any permissions. No error messages! Except that it times out and says the drive isn't responding.
