File Transfer Stops at the exact same percantage every time.

I have a large file (67 gb) in my external hard drive. Every time I tried to copy the file to the desktop from my external drive, transfer stops at the exact same percentage. If the file size is small I can copy it without any errors from the same hard disk (like 10 gb). I honestly have no idea what is going on. Can someone please help me. I need this file for my new project it is literally life and death for me at this stage.

A single file is 67 GB?

Perhaps there is an error on the drive, and, the transfer gets botched at that point repeatedly....

Try some smaller transfers first....

Or try connected to a slower USB port, no spinning drive is going to max out even a USB 2.0 port anyway....

Prior to the transfer, you might try an error check on the external drive within properties/tools, or, check it's SMART data with CrystalDiskInfo...

Anything yellow in the CDI results is cause for concern...
