Dear friends,

yesterday i recovered m lost data from the formatted NTFS hard disk t M USB pen drive using diskinternals ntfs recovery.
problem with the recovered files was that all the files were of EFS_NTFS type. I wanted t know how to convert these files into normal files.

EFS files are Encrypted File System files. I am guessing that you will need to run Cipher to get these back. = Cipher.exe Security Tool for the Encrypting File System. = You can get it here = http://support.microsoft.com/kb/298009

This allows a user or administrator to display or alter the encryption of files. In addition to encrypting or decrypting a file or folder, Cipher can be used to update the file encryption keys or the keys of the data recovery agent (DRA) should there be a change in the data recovery policy.

Have you checked also if diskinternals also has a decryption tool?

Peter.
