So. I tried to change my users folder name through the Registry Edit. Afterwards I ended up getting signed into a temporary account. I kept messing with the username in registry edit until it would log me back into a main account without a temp one. I soon found myself at a loss and it wouldn't work. (At this point I noticed some files had changed or was missing) Giving up. I did a system restore overnight to a point at about a week ago. When I woke up and came to my PC and logged in, I was back at my man account from before. The users file is back to the original name. However, I noticed that now my desktop wallpaper is a black and I can't change it. Also, there are some files on my desktop that have gone missing. I did a scan on the C drive to check for errors but windows says it's fine. Please help me...

Hello SageOfRhythm

Generally, restoring Windows to an earlier restore point never effects your personal files. However, if some of your files are lost, you can get them back using any efficient data recovery tool. Some of them are :

> 7-Data Recovery

> Recovery My Files

> EaseUs Data Recovery Wizard

To change the desktop wallpaper, you can:

> Go to Control Panel > Ease of Access > Optimize visual display (from under Ease of AccessCenter)

> From under the Make things on the screen easier to see section, uncheck the Remove background images (where available) checkbox.

> Click OK.

You should now be able to change the wallpaper.

Feel free...
