I had an Acer Aspire V5 that is no longer with us. It was originally a Win 8.1 OS but upgraded to Win 10. I saved the HDD and using a Sata to USB cable wanted to transfer my documents, videos, photos and the like to my new laptop which is an Acer Aspire E5-573G with preinstalled Win 10 OS. the new laptop can see the old computer's file structure. It sees that the HDD is almost full which is right and which I had just bought a 2TB external to rectify. However I go into Users, then click on my folder and---nothing. There is nothing to see, nothing to click on and apparently nothing to transfer. My new computer's file explorer sees nothing.
However when I click and drag that folder onto desktop, it starts to copy. and when you click on details you can see all of the files I am after but still can not see them in my file explorer.
Is there a difference between the upgrade version of Win 10 and the factory pre install?
