Filing down a case fan?

dang. Picked up a Bitfenix specter pro 200mm blue led case fan to swap out the default one on my case. It has a lot more power than the default one. Problem is it doesn't fit on the front properly because of its chunky edges. This is the fan

see the thick 3 prongs on the edge instead of the standard 2? Well the tip of the 3rd hold gets in the way when i try to put the faceplate back on my case. The thermake overseer snow edition

I was just wondering if it would be safe to just file off the edge of the fan an inch or so to make it fit. Maybe with a dremel or even just a hand file or something? Or would that make the fan vibrate? Im thinking it should be fine since its going to still be bolted down and i shouldn't be filing anything thats used to secure it. Thoughts? I really wanted to use this fan. I have some Cooler master fans but theyre not nearly as good.


So is that ok to do or not? Assuming its not; does anyone have an y suggestions for a good 200mm blue case fan i could use?

i'd think a dremel would be easier and quicker, but it's up to you.
