I have a ga ep31 ds3l .... and i have been trying to put 4 ram modules in my motherboard... if i put 3 in it works good,
im using 2 "Kingston - KVR667D2N5/1G" AND 2 "Ramaxel PC2-5300U-555 LF" *they are both single sided and both use 1.8v and both 667mhz... i dont see why it wont work... i have updated the bios... still the samething, currently i got them in, as the same slot colors... for a example....

"Kingston in both yellow slots"
"ramaxel in both red slots"

but if i take out 1 ramaxel on the end red slot, the PC boots....

and solutions ??

Some boards from that era are picky about populating all slots if the RAM isn't EXACTLY matched as to brand, speed, timings, voltage, and even batch number sometimes. I had an old Asus P5NE-SLI board that had a stability problem even with 2 pairs of Matched RAM. I had to use a 4 stick set of matched RAM to have it be stable. Back then, a 4 stick set was hard to find. And expensive!
