3870 is a little more expensive right now because the 3870x2 is using the same chips but x2, so it's all about supply and demand. If you really want to get a decent price on a 3870 just wait a few months till few people want the 3870 anymore. There'll always be something better around the corner.

I'm kinda aggrivated right now. I ordered the MSI 8800GT 512mb OC someone posted, that was 219.. and 199 after rebate. I also ordered some ram, and a dvd burner along with it, as well as a laminating machine for my wife. I spent over half a grand. I also ordered a case and some fans about 3 hrs after I made the first order. weird thing..

the laminator and the case have already been shipped out, and the laminator has already been deducted from my paypal, which was part of my first order including the video card. The rest of the order is still on step 1.. and I am not sure what the hold up is, since I chose "rush processing".. I've never had a problem before.

They also have my credit card listed as funding, instead of paypal like its supposed to be.

I just noticed as well, that the card is no longer 219.99, but has jumped to 229.99...

this wouldn't have anything to do with it would it?

Excellent find!

How do you think 2 of those would perform in SLI? Heat would be comparable to an 8800 GT? Would they fit in a large case on an ASUS Striker Extreme?

They should do but you would not have a lot of room between them for ventilation.
